although it was so tiring the past week when my family was here,

now that they leave I feel that emptiness.

No worries, its gonna be two weeks when I see them.

Though I am very certain I will be seriously missing all of taiwan then. =(

Week 11 - Hectic but fulfilling weekend!

The week started off slow, as lessons progressed and mid term quizzes results were released. It was honestly a no-brainer for all three papers, probably due to the fact that we just needed to pass them.

That said, I did put in much effort preparing for the English Reporting paper, since I didn't want to let my group mates down. After all, the grades did matter to them.

On Thursday, lion brought me to 南機場夜市 and boy, food there were awesome. The highlight was definitely the papaya milkshake, which tasted velvety smooth, creamy and rich. Not forgetting the cute store owner and her generous antics.

Right before 南機場 though, I had really good and affordable 小龍抱 which was located at a relatively unknown area (near 小南門). The food there was amazing, and I'm seriously not exaggerating. Definitely returning there and it was fantastic recommendation by mr. lion.

Saturday was body combat lesson as usual, and it was hilarious when I eventually realized my serious demeanor was mistaken as a sign of infuriation. No wonder both of them stayed away from me until I sparked off conversation with them.

福美姊 brought me to 天母, which apparently is an 'high-end' district filled with expats. She treated me to dinner, which was mainly Shanghai-nese cuisine. The food tasted unique, but lean towards a more exorbitant pricing.

Thereafter, we had palatable and indulgently satisfying ice cream at Bigtom. The must-try: Red Wine Ice Cream and warm delectable brownie with rich wine drizzled over.

On Sunday I headed to 新竹 with the rest, and fortunately, it was breezy and perfect for cycling. Char and me completed 34km, and we instantly felt lighter after the ride. Thereafter we had Singaporean food, strongly recommended by our fellow 新竹-ers, but it was not THAT appetizing though. Instead, it made us crave for more Singaporean food.

Monday was spent KTVing at 新居點 and once again, I ate a bunch while packed loads of raisins back home. Perfect for snacking... at zero cost. :P

All in all, while the weekend was packed with activities, it was a blast. And fulfilling!

Yanlan and me were totally stressed out trying to figure how to genuinely surprise Ms. 炒麵 especially since she is very observant. We had to think a step ahead of her for the whole of yesterday, and our conversations had to be totally subtle.

But it was all worth it when we saw how touched she was. XD

Week 10 - Activities Galore!

We had three mid terms this week, and I'm not going to lie - I did not felt a lil bit of stress and neither did I put in much effort preparing for them.

Hooray to S/U-able mods during exchange! =D

The Pets Society is having a rush of activities, and I attended their first meeting yesterday. It was heartwarming to know they are indeed motivated to help out these stray dogs, and I am glad to be part of this team.

Which also means Tuesday will be a total killer. But gonna love it! :)

I had been thinking if I should do some filming for adverts or MTVs in Taiwan, but loaning of equipments here is an absolute hindrance. I should look around for motivation (like competitions etc.) so that I actually do them. And to build up my portfolio if I want to apply for an internship in PR in Taiwan. :)

Week 9 - An uneventful week

Fallen very ill again this week but at least i'm finally recovering.

Well I have to after religiously taking medicine hoping to remedy the annoying sickness before KTV tomorrow!

Nothing particularly interesting happened this week, got to meet up with a friend from 台大 after delaying our meetups since the first week.

Experienced body combat, and while it was just through several online video clips, it surely pumped Charmaine and me up. Its going to be body combat thrice a week from now on~

Three mid terms next week, time to prep and do some work! =)

Im glad that I have these friends who truly care about me,

and thank you J for understanding what my frustrations were.

The disappointment is inevitable, but i suppose its no longer important.

After finally talking it out with J, I realize what is affecting me.

In every relationship, I truly commit emotionally. That is the biggest difference from my dates.

I know that when I look back, I can embrace those experiences and know that I have learnt something from it.

However, as I look back this relationship, I realized it cannot be said the same. And it is the first.

I have been too occupied trying to manage a LDR, helping the individual experience the best relationship possible, but in the process, I forgot I needed to feel the love too.

Admittedly, I lost the feeling several weeks back, but I chose to put it off my mind. I figured it might be because I do not get to see the person, and there was a possibility that it was just a passing phase.

The optimism was extinguished when you chose to run away from the problem. It still remains incomprehensible why you want me to spell out those silent thoughts and feel affected and despaired thereafter.

But I do appreciate that you made a decision, and at least I am certain you can better focus on your schoolwork.

Finally, sorry if this wasn't a pleasant first relationship for you, but I do hope on your side you have good memories that could be taken away, albeit the little time together. :)

Week 8 - Arrival of Andrew/Aloy & Kaoshiung

The past two weeks were really hectic, and I didnt have much time to sit down and blog.

(Edit in: I forgot about my adventure to 烏來 right before I met my brothers! 烏來 is really a nice place to just lay back and relax, enjoy the fresh non-polluted air and famous 溫泉蛋. Those eggs are really a must try, they are of an exotic taste and totally irresistible. Unfortunately I did not op for the 美人湯 this visit, but I will definitely head back there again!)

Basically, it started off with the arrival of Aloysius and Andrew to Taipei, and I was really elated to see them given them it has been a long time since we caught up. Moreover, Andrew specially flew down from Shanghai to Taipei first before heading back to Singapore.

Brought them to Danshui that weekend, and as usual the place was brimmed with people! But I finally caught the sunset at 漁人碼頭 and boy, it was really gorgeous. Made a trip down to 永康牛肉面 but it was a disappointment, because I tasted a much cheaper and better alternative than it. Went clubbing for both nights, and that sure got me really exhausted.

Next highlight was 高雄, and it was a memorable trip. We cycled around the city for that two days, toured all the scenic and touristy hangouts and night markets, and i conclude that I do love the serenity and calmness in the city. Not forgetting the sunny and bright weather!

Most memorable food tasted should be 婆婆冰, the shaved ice was just absolutely fantastic! Runner up goes to 木瓜牛奶, it tasted so velvety, smooth and the proportion was well done. Totally changed my opinion on papaya milkshakes.

Unfortunately, the only setback of this trip was the overnight train back. The seats were comfortable, but it was just not our "thing". We ended up all falling sick, with me finally getting my first fever in Taipei. For that Wednesday when I returned, I basically had zero appetite (the very first time, given I always develop this ravenous appetite when I am sick), and forced down a cup of 墾丁冰茶 as the only meal for the day.

Thereafter was the arrival of Maxel while the rest travelled to 台中. So far, I have only joined them to 士林夜市 and went to 陽明山 to 看夜景. The latter was a breathtaking experience, to enjoy the strong chilly breeze while having an amazing spectacle laid in front of you.

Day 45 - 舍我杯

Everything is progressing well, and some mind-bogging issues are seemingly resolved. WHEEE!

We supported Samuel for his singing competition, and we were treated to a concert full of excellent and powerful singers. Never expected the contestants were so strong, and Samuel put up a good fight, given he was suffering from a block nose, inflamed throat and hell lot of nerves. But I am proud that we screamed our lungs out for him, and made an awesome looking board (which potentially could be reused.)

Went to Wan Hua Night Market, and I was fooled by 康熙 about the peanut ice cream roll, because it tasted ordinarily disappointing. But 獅子's recommendation of the dried 米粉 that tasted SUPERB. i actually finished a small bowl by myself, an exceptionally rare occurrence. :)

Day 39 - 44: Way overdued SORRY!

Ok a span of five days of not blogging, but I will try my best to recall all the interesting places within this short span on time! (No in chronological order oops! :P)

Foremost, Samuel got into the finals of his singing competition! All thanks to my awesome recommendation of singing something WITHIN his comfort zone, i.e. Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours". Admittedly, most of the male contestants were fairly weak, but many girls on the other hand were outstanding!

And for getting into the finals, Samuel treated us to KTV! Initially I thought it was pretty expensive (given that we had to pay 320NT = $15) for four hours, but I realized it was totally worth it, since we could take HEAPS AND HEAPS of food.. for FREE! We probably settled our lunch and an early dinner there. LAUGHS.

Next, we joined the NCCU peeps to floral expo, and I was surprised for a early weekday morning it was still swamped with people. Took many photos, enjoyed the beautiful spectacle of flowers and avoided all the pavillions (which were actually the main highlights) because the queues were ridiculously long.

I had the chance to pop down to an American warehouse, Costco located at Nei Hu. Gigantic and being an outlet mall, it was packed with items at affordable pricings. Had a good dinner with some Taiwan friends over dinner and the food from Costco was actually decent. :)

Brought the girls to club on Saturday, and we were all shocked that entry was ridiculously overpriced... for them. But they were bombarded with loads of free drinks, which basically consisted of taiwan beer and barcardi that tasted like awfully sweetened lemonade. Surprise of the night was a group of dancers sashaying to a medley of chinese dance remix. And they were seriously good.

Day 36 - 38 - Lessons from Tuesday to Thursday

Loving the colours as well as the film directing lesson.

The latter was REALLY productive and fun today. :)

Learning about visual elements within a film was like relieving the memories of GV12, but to a greater depth. This is one aspect of film I thoroughly enjoy.

Day 35 - Onward to 九份 and 基隆！

九份 was indeed a touristy location, but we were fortunate that it was not as packed as described by the locals, probably because it was a Monday.

We tried a variety of food, most of which are simple but unique. Not forgetting the dried cuttlefish there was affordable and really palatable.

If you love appreciating tea, this place is for you. It is populated by many tea joints which offer you a breathtaking view of the surroundings while sipping hot calming tea. Perfect for a chilly day! :)

Due to the haze, we couldn't visit many areas as planned, but we got to sea a peculiar 陰陽海，where the sea is mixed with large amount of sulphur thus giving off that intense yellowish brown shade.

We headed to 基隆 next, and hangout at a coffee joint until it was time to visit the local night market. We were given a list of food to sample by our taiwan exchange coordinator, though most of the food turn out to be really disappointing. The three must-tries include shaved ice, chocolate 雞蛋餅 and 一口吃香腸！

Day 32-34 - Roaming the streets of Taipei.. again.

The past few days were spent revisiting the same few places again, since Taipei is indeed very tiny.

Let me do a recollection of the places we went to

Friday - 五分鋪 and 饒河夜市

Nothing unusual, other than the fact I was literally traipsing around with Charmaine while the rest were busy shopping for clothes. Nothing I needed to buy, so I pretty much came down to came food.

Saturday - 寧夏夜市

A notable mention of a discovery I made some time back,

there's this bakery right beside 中山捷運站 exit, and it sells fantastic mochi. The guys LOVED my recommendation, and basically we were mochi-lovers converts.

Support Samuel who was singing for a school competition, and we cheered our lungs out for him. He definitely made an impression (update: he got into the semis! whee!) with his emotive rendition of 如果沒有你.

寧夏夜市 is one night market i will recommend because the range of unique food offered.

Special mentions:

1. Oyster Omelette - like (*^$!(*^%&*%^*&% SUPER delectable!

2. 鴨血湯 - Sounds grotesque, but its actually really good!

3. Oyster Soup - Pretty good!

4. Beancurd - Nothing can beat the one at 平溪 or 公館, but its still good!

We queued for the 蛋黃玉餅, though it was really nothing exceptional. It was fortunately a pretty short wait for a weekend, probably because it was rainy.

We ended the day playing Monopoly deal and Daidee, and the losers had to eat 雞屁股. Adventurous huh? Admittedly, it was not as bad as we thought, though Siyuan was obviously very traumatized by the taste of it!

Day 34 - 公館

Didnt do much for the day, went to Lattea at 公館 to meet a friend, followed by dinner at this Italian spaghetti joint which was relatively cheap for the amount of noodles offered. Though not exactly the ideal dinner hangout for carbo-haters like Char and me.

Day 31 - ILL but out and about!

After braving the rain and strong winds,

I have fallen ill.

Woke up with a fever but decided to go ahead for lessons. Got better after I gobbled down gazillions though.

Headed out in the evening for dinner,

and had a first taste of 排骨 in Taiwan, which tasted really good! (Well it better be; I forgo-ed my lovely self-made salad for that.)

And finally, I got to watch my very first movie in Taiwan.

"Battle: Los Angeles" was fairly decent, typical action film, and in fact the plot was rather unexciting. But I guess not watching a movie for over a month made it a good experience anyway!

It was a really good night-out and surprisingly, I'm feeling much better now! Woohoo!

Day 30 - Steamboat!

Management class turned out to be better than I have expected.

Admittedly, it wasn't what was taught in class that changes my perception for the better,

it was the international students and some cuties in class.

Charmaine's excited too. HAHAHAHA!

In the evening, met Matt for dinner, and he treated me to a steamboat.

The 麻辣鍋 was really good, moreover there were a wide range of ice cream flavors available.

While the price was slightly inclined towards the exorbitant side (499NT), there were tons of people awaiting for seats. Well, I guess Taiwan people really do love to eat!

Day 27 - 29

Nothing exceptionally memorable these three days.

Headed out with the clique

stocked up on groceries,

met a few Taiwan friends,

went for a jog by the beautiful river,

worked out at the dilapidated-looking gym

eat, eat more and eat even more.

And I have my room back... no more snoring from Siyuan! Yay!

P.S: And I realized the joy of skyping without any lag. (Under special request I had to blog this down :PPPP)

Day 26 - Zoo Zoo Zoo

We paid a visit to the zoo, and it is definitely much better than Singapore's.

We then headed down to Ningxia Night Market, and seriously Shilin is overrated about having awesome delicacies. The food at Ningxia was spectacularly delectable!

Day 25- 我是獅子 Roar!

It has been a while since I have said TGIF, because fridays to me are literally short days, where school concludes at 12pm.

Went to Ximen in the evening and met a TW friend, whom I address as 獅子. Very nice fellow, and I was pretty guilty for letting him wait over 45minutes due to the unexpected traffic jam. He brought me to this noodle/porridge eatery, and while not exactly compatible with my anti-rice/noodles habit, but at least the soup tasted good! :)

Very down-to-earth guy thus a good carefree chat at lattea, and he sent me back home thereafter. Short but a very fulfilling day indeed!

Oh, and I paid a visit to this biscuit outlet which sells AMAZING tarts and shortcakes in a drier form. I will take pictures of these snacks when I head down there the next time! :)

Day 24 - Cooking's a SUCCESS! =)

It has been pouring incessantly, and I was wondering what we should have for dinner.

We were in class, when I suddenly remembered I have cooked steamed tofu and egg before.

Granted it wasnt exactly palatable the first attempt, but I was really eager to eat homecooked food in this frigid weather.

Voila, we cooked our very 2nd meal in Taipei, and it turned out to be a success!

Finally, I can pridefully say that I can be proud of whipping up something tasty.. WOOHOO!! This certainly made my day. :)

A Memorable Monday

We brave the gales and 10degree chilly weather and went to 陽明山, so that we could see sakuras. Unfortunately, the flowers were not fully opened, and it was relatively misty so we could not exactly roam around at ease. We did not pay a visit to the hot springs too, probably leave it to the next time when we are here!

Freaky Tuesday

Lessons lessons and more lessons. Notably the media law lecture was really draggy and not a good learning experience. We basically spent three hours surfing the web while he was ranting about insipid or irrelevant topics.

Wednesday - Revisiting Singapore!

We had an interview with one of the news station, and basically they wanted to spotlight lives of Singaporeans in Taipei and our views of the lifestyle here. And our gift was a $90 calligraphy-lookalike notebook. NOT BAD. =P

Lunch at this tomato soup eatery, and it was surprisingly tasty. Definitely going to visit again if I'm desperately looking for hot steamy and tasty soup!

Dinner was at Merlion, an eatery featuring Singaporean food. We made new Singaporean friends, mainly from SMU who is either exchange or international students in 台大大學. There were a bunch of fun people, and the food was not too bad either. We got to taste chicken rice, curry fish head, sambal kangkong, tofu prawn, chicken feet, stirfried broccoli, vegetable stuffed popiah, bat kut teh and ending off with bubur chacha.

We have known each other for almost 3 months, and as you have mentioned, there were many hiccups along the way.

Lately, I have been wondering if I am really suitable for you, given that I might be causing unnecessary pressure.

But I realize eventually that the fact I'm thinking about this shows that I'm very much in love,

and I just want the best for you.

A long distance relationship isn't facile, and admittedly while I do have many experiences of dating and being attached, this is totally foreign to me.

In the process, I am learning once again how to trust and share, which is a tough feat given that I safeguard and barricade my troubles and dilemmas from people all the time. But I do need you to take initiative once in a while, since ultimately I need to reassured that we are both putting in effort to ensure communication is running both ways.

Thanks for the message this morning, and this umpteen time of saying thanks is required because it convinced me that what I have done for you is all worth it.

It has been on my mind all this while; its your first relationship, and I do want to make it the most memorable one for you.

Happy first month my dear, and I'll promise to be there for you when you need to rant, vent or frustrate.

Day 20 - Officially Homesick!

With mere three hours of rest, I crept out of bed and headed out with the rest to 平溪, which is an hour's journey away from Taipei central. It was where our landlord and his family lives.

The moment I stepped into his house, a sense of familiarity and feeling of home engulfed over me. The family was obviously opulent, the home decorations was lavish and the flooring was just very much gorgeous. That said, we love the family, because they were humble people who genuinely wanted us to have an enjoyable time in Taiwan.

With our two youthful girl guides, we set off to 十份. It was relatively touristy, depsite looking remotely rural. Nothing exactly fantastic there, but being able to smell refreshing clean air makes it all worthwhile to come here. From the bridge, we got see a panoramic view of the beautiful landscape too!

We had late lunch at 青銅, and the cold tofu was really luscious and delectable.

we strolled back to 平溪, enjoying the scenic view along the way. The guys made their way to the temple, and I headed to the old street, where I saw a horde of people queueing for wild boar sausages. Being a typical Singaporean (quoting YL), I joined in the queue and voila, it took us 40 minutes just to get the food we desired.

BUT TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT, THE CALORIES AND FATS.

Sausages were very well barbecued, and it didn't feel greasy despite the layer of oil clearly visible. The meat was tender and fresh, and the aftertaste was deliciously memorable. The barbequed chicken meat was really done too, and it taste very much different from your usual Taiwanese chicken cutlet.

But the highlight of the day was the homecooked food that our landlord's mother prepared. It made all of us miss home so much, and it made me really miss my mother's cooking! =(

We set off the big lantern thereafter, where our wishes were well written on it. Playing with firecrackers were loads of fun too! Definitely an experience that I wouldn't forget!

As I was heading back home to Funky, it made me realized how much i enjoyed the day and how I miss home badly. Mother still have not called and she seems to be occupied everytime I try to dial back home. Oh well!

Day 19 - Cold and out about!

I started off the day with mixed emotions, and I decided to brave the chilly weather and ran to school instead.

The run did make me feel more refreshed, though it did not exactly make me feel better. :)

English Reporting was really boring, and I spent half the lesson pondering when it would conclude.

And when it finally did, I went to gym and saw my friend coincidentally. What a small world.

Char, YL and me headed for lunch at Mint, the Italian hangout which we have not visited since the first week.

And for a change, I gobbled up every bit of my spaghetti, while horrified I was still famished.

I knew then I was definitely not feeling right today.

Met Darryl and the bunch of us shopped together at Wu Fen Pu while enjoying food at Raohe Night Market. It was not too crowded today, and perhaps due to the cold, we ended up luxuriously spending most of our time sampling as much food as we could!

Eating naturally makes me feel better.

Day 17 & 18 - New friends

Wednesdays are enjoyable.

Basically I am 'forced' to wake up for Mountaineering lesson, which I treat it as a form of cardio workout.

Thereafter I will drag myself to the gym so that the trip to school is not wasted.

And for the rest of the day, I'm free!

Oh a random note, I have to schedule my wednesdays with activities so that it will be more productive though.

I met a new friend after my lesson on Application of Colours on Thursday.

Quoting Char's comment, the person looks really cute. And remotely familiar.

We had food from this burger joint, not exactly fantastic but I finally got a taste of Ciabatta bread here. (Pictures up later!)

During TV Directing class, we watched a french film that shows the trials faced by the director. It was enlightening and surprisingly entertaining, despite trying my utmost best to decipher the chinese traditional subtitles in the midst of comprehending the show.

That aside,

I miss my family.

And I think my mother is either too preoccupied with her own troubles or have forgotten about me. Tried calling her but going go through, and neither has she contacted me with her skype phone.

It dawned on me that one ought to learn how not to take someone's care and concern for granted.

Tuesdays in Taiwan..

... are dreading.

Aerobic Endurance from 0800 - 1000. The instructor excitedly tells us about his life, while our only interest is his loyal black dog who stations beside him, comfortably hallucinating to his rantings.

Design and Development of Digital Content from 1000 - 1300. Admittedly, the only lesson of the day that is enlightening and really beneficial, though its still progressing really slowly. But at the least its interactive, and you get to learn softwares which are really beneficial.

Media Law 1300 - 1600. Tough, tough, tough. It only gets tougher because of gargantuan jargons that are bombarded to us. Not forgetting substantial readings and immense amount of preparation before class. And the lecturer just loves to emphasize about subjects that she deems interesting to her (which are usually irrelevant..?)

Media Management 1830 - 2130. The lesson is definitely less onerous that its deliciously mindblowing counterpart (coughsmedialawcoughs), but the information educated is really dry. And we seem to be spending more time translating the terms from traditional chinese to english. Fortunately, life in 201, 203 and 207 help us to understand what is being taught better.

Its 2109 right now (yes I'm blogging in the midst of lessons), and I am brain-dead. Blinks.

1. You snap pictures of dogs wherever you go.

2. Dogs are your main interest and you go ooo~ and aahhh~ when you see one.

3. You google about the different species of dogs in your spare time.

4. You use pictures and videos of dogs when you are practicing premiere pro in class.

5. You desperately want to feel some fur.

6. You look at pictures of your dog and get all emotional.

7. You hope you can actually fly your dog over.

Day 14 - Danshui & the Lover's Bridge

It was an awesome awesome day.

We started the day with a jog along the river, and definitely a great workout for all of us since we have been chomping down too much food lately.

Breakfast was at 永和豆漿 and we bought bread from 85度 C. The whipped cream/custard taste splendid and very worth buying!

black glutinous rice bread. sounds really carbo-ish.

We traveled to 淡水 and boy, it was REALLY swarming with people.. swarming being an understatement.

But it was all worth it, with tons of food choices available and we really couldn't decide what to eat! And of course, we were camwhoring whenever it was possible. :)

We headed to 漁人碼頭 and finally we stepped on the lovers' bridge. Supposedly you are to cross that bridge with your partner so we decided to do something that was really hilarious. I cant exactly release the pictures here but it was good rollicking fun!

We couldn't see the sunset due to the heavy mist, but it was still worth heading down to enjoy the scenery. And taking gazillions photos of dogs!

Yanlan was commenting I should start an album worth of photos of dogs. Hmm.. maybe I should! :)

We headed back, and Charmaine finally relished her craving of stinky tofu, and I couldnt resist the red bean pancake. And surprisingly, the paswas basically covering almost every inch of the flour!

Looking back, the run today was so worth it. At least we could be a little less guilty for ingesting in so much snacks!

i am worried, especially since I cannot be home at this point and no one is exactly there to guide her. She is complaining, yet she isnt doing anything because she fears changes. I can only hope that she figures out she needs to do something in order to resolve those dilemmas.

Resolutions in Taiwan!

1. Maintain my physique. I'm still waiting to flaunt nice six pecs to Charmaine Yap Shu Hui. HAHAHA.

2. Learn how to cook a decent meal confidently!

3. To be part of the Animal Welfare Society and help out stray dogs. Sound very community service but I have always wanted to do this.

4. To make friends with many people here so that it will leave good memories. Especially broadcast students.

5. To help out as crew to productions, and making good contacts in the midst of it.

6. To learn the basics of Aftereffects or at the least, Photoshop and illustrator! After all this is a necessity if I really want to make a mark in PR department. :)

7. and to love you as much. Winks.

So far I have been blogging down my happenings in Taiwan, so that when I look back at the end of exchange, I can vividly recall all these fond memories. Woohoo!

Day 13 - Lots and lots and lots of.. MEAT.

We planned to head to Danshui today, but clubbing killed brain cells.

So we decided to head there tomorrow since it was running late and we would probably miss the sunset.

I woke up early, and stoned while watching the last few episodes of Pokemon Sinnoh League (the final episode was just annoyingly dejecting blah.)

Decided to go for a run while waiting for the rest, and explored an area with beautiful scenery.

Following then, we headed to 景美not-so-夜市 and had a late brunch/lunch, and honestly, the food here triumphs over 士林 anytime!

We headed to 忠孝敦化 next and shopped around, and at the end of three hours walk, we were thoroughly famished. We headed to this Japanese Sukiyaki buffet called Mo-Mo.

Well, the bunch of hungry maniacs gobbled down innumerable plates of beef, pork and vegetables. Even the staff was giggling after she saw how much we ordered.

siyuan ate beef. so much for being a buddhist haha!

And all these for just $20. Very worth the money and I'll definitely return here if I have a desperate need for meat! :)

Day 12 - Think.. TWICE

After two weeks of being in Taiwan,

we finally clubbed!

Ok before I touch on that, I just have to blog this down.

Dinner was awesome!

Hamburg Steak, Salad, Cheese Naan.

Basically they were food you could find in Singapore, but you will naturally enjoy the food more as you compare the prices and realized its much cheaper!

Anyway, thereafter we headed to Luxy...

... but to our dismay, there was an event and the entry fee was an exorbitant 600 bucks just for a cup of drink. And moreover the crowd looked too mature for our liking. So we decided to pop down to..

TWICE.

This club looked rowdy from outside and we were doubtful if it would be fun inside. But we purchase a package, which basically is 600 per pax BUT free flow drinks.

Yes, free flow of drinks. Like seriously WHAT?!

We ordered like kings and queens, and this is the list of what we drank

Long island tea, screwdriver, cosmopolitan, kamikaze, vodka lime, whiskey, sex on the bitch, tequila shots and absolutely grotesque singapore sling.

And they serve free flow Absinthe shots. Absolute madness!

Apparently long island tea had no effect on me, but we were having much fun acting like mad drunkards and grooving with the heavy beats.

What we concluded though, Taiwanese are generally geared towards being bystanders and smiley drinkers instead of dancers. We were basically the bunch who were swinging our hands and hymning aloud to "Only Girl in The World" and "Paparazzi".

And the girls are definitely not a shy and my ass was grabbed by a girl.. and squeezed hard. Heck, I was grind by guys as well thanks to beloved 'dizzy' Charmaine who the target of the night.

But all in all, minus the smoke, it was a really fun and enjoyable night!

Time passes speedily when you have fun.

And it rolls by even more rapidly when you are truly enjoying yourself.

I know its going to be tough once you reach Sydney,

with all the worries about finding a suitable and cheap accommodation,

friends progressing on with their lives while you are slogging wearily out there alone,

not being able to see dear wishful-looking Milo and droopy-eyes Buddy,

and having to worry about your dad and his health.

But look on a brighter note,

you have a bunch of affable friends waiting for you in Sydney!

You can easily lug along those blissful memories along with you that will gratefully warmth you.

Moreover, you can pridefully say aloud the difference with your return to Sydney this time;

You are not alone! :)

He is there for you to share your predicament or vent any unhappiness to,

and while he may not be able to give you that comforting touch,

he can send you endless supply of unglamorous but hysterical photos,

let you hear his angelic voice through the phone or Skype,

and be that someone who wouldn't judge you while you rant a chain of frustrations.

Enjoy your last day in Singapore alright?

Eat all the good food, feed all the treats you want to the two buggers,

and head for a semester that will be exciting and fun!

Day 11 - Happy Birthday, Sam!

Yes, the post dedicated to Samuel, the first birthday we are celebrating amongst the five Taiwan-eers. :)

Call it pure coincidence, or apparent freakiness, but right after we surprise Samuel with his birthday cake, there was a blackout.

Which lasted for the next five hours. Really freaking isn't it?

Nevertheless, we are glad Samuel was genuinely elated over this surprise, hopefully he felt that bit of warmth in this chilly weather!

Today Charmaine and me finally attended our first actual broadcast lesson, which is a seminar on directing and filming. The female lecturer sounded dour with a puritanical outlook, but that was just the work of her broadcast persona. Well according to her. (=

But she was definitely educational and a straightforward lady, someone who sure doesnt mince her words and brimming with confidence, which makes her really different from rest of the lecturers I have met so far. And her lesson was enjoyable, despite progressing really slowly by the last hour.

But I am going to look forward to making friends with the rest of the broadcast students as we work as their production crew! :)

I had mountaineering. And it was pretty awesome.

I ate sushi, bread, yogurt, and much meat.

The day passed swiftly, nothing accomplished or exceptionally memorable,

at it concluded on a rough note.

I went for a run to empty those thoughts,

refusing to succumb to negativity.

Something died.

Day 9 - First day = Exhaustion

After 4 months of break, to get those engines ignited for school was definitely not an effortless task.

Moreover when you have four back to back lessons (almost) starting from 10 and ending at 9pm (ok theoretically.)

First lesson was Aerobic Endurance. I was looking forward to my first lesson but apparently its an introductory one that was just full of crap. The tutor spent one full hour rambling about his life and why we need to build stamina. Cmon, I wore track pants to school so that we can do some cardio! ZZZZZ.

Well at least he was nice!

Next lesson was Digital Development. Basically this lesson teaches us how to operate softwares such as photoshop, aftereffects, premiere pro and illustrator. WOOHOO!

What was totally memorable though, was penning down a self recommendation letter to the teacher. Which obviously has to be in Chinese. I was thoroughly surprised over how I managed to squeeze out much fluff in that short span of time, though most of it being repetitive. And I think I sounded extremely amateurish. Lol =P

Following that was lunch, and we had Jap food.. which was DAMN EPIC GOOD. :D

The third lesson was Media Law, and we found out eventually it was a Master students' lesson. Which means its conducted in a seminar format which require you to discuss with the tutor and share your opinions promptly.

Fortunately, our tutor was really nice to us, and I am exceptional thankful that she made the lesson as relatable and personal to us (quoting her, Singaporeans.)

Our final lesson was Media Management, which we decided not to take up because the tutor was just too whiny and draggy. He could spend an hour talking about himself, and another hour talking about stuff totally irrelevant. Gosh. Most importantly, a lesson from 6.30pm to 9.30pm was just awfully draining.

Though admittedly, I was really tempted because the syllabus sounded appealing as compared to the module in Singapore. Well.. we shall see. =)

It was such an exhausting day.. BUT, and I know it is going to sound really crazy,

I sure miss school. HOORAY!

Day 8 - Nothing much!

To be honest, nothing much happened. Okay, other than the fact that it was numbing cold.

Lunch I made my own yogurt with fruits and half a teaspoon of honey. Very shiok.

And guacamole dip with bread is heavenly. Avocado FTW! :)

While my diet may seen healthy, I actually consumed too much calories for my own good. Very bad, but i blame the chilly weather. HAHAHA.

Oh, I will post up the picture of our dinner later, but the 滷味 was fantabulous seriously.

Day 7 - Home cooked food

A frigid sunday, and it was precipitating all day long, thus all plans were postponed.

But we managed to whip up a meal ourselves, feeling all prideful and satisfied! :)

Charmaine cooked the omelette,

Samuel did the vegetables,

while I concluded with chicken meat.

Cooking is so fun especially with a group of friends, and it does warm you in this horribly chilly weather.

It was tough putting across how I felt, because I know it will result in regrets. Moreover, i will blame myself eventually for sounding immature or uncontrollable. But I hope it has brought you insights to what that has perturbed me all these while.

I know somehow, I have forced myself to adapt and change.

But I still and always do love you wholeheartedly. :)

Day 6 - Its HORRIBLY COLD.

Fell ill. Probably due to the harsh weather.

But nevertheless, I headed out with the guys, and boy, my appetite was ravenous. Apparently when I'm sick, my appetite just gets better. Arghhh hahaha.

Lunch at the usual Italian place, since Siyuan did not get to taste it on Friday. Poor Yanlan and Samuel, since its their third consecutive visit. :P

Baked Rice.. So very tasty though you have to be a fan of carbonara to enjoy this fully.

The pumpkin soup and bread puff was AMAZING.

Having this was lunch was so worth it!

Well the three musketeers (me included) made a foolish decision to eat ice cream while bracing through this chilly weather. The feeling was.. not exactly pleasant, but definitely memorable.

We made our way to Shilin Night Market, and hooray, finally some fried food that I wouldnt hesitate eating!

Day 5 - Food, food and more food

After consuming so much food lately without much exercise, I finally hit the gym and a run in the morning.

The National Chengchi Gym is dismally run-down, dumbbells were very much oxidized over years of usage, and there were a lack of equipments (with most of the current ones being damaged rather badly.)

BUT, at least it was still a place where I could work out and sweat off the excess calories.

On the other hand, the run around the neighbourhood was a pleasant experience. I explored the outskirts of where I resided, and it was a relatively peaceful as compared to the town area. But definitely the current weather is ideal for running, and I thoroughly luxuriate in the tranquility and serenity of the environment.

Food, food and more food.

Breakfast - Exceptionally good toast and yes, the staff were hospitable and cute. Accordingly to Charmaine at least, after all its her favourite breakfast chain.. and yes, mine as well. =P

Late Lunch - This Italian Restaurant is frequent by University students (I presume from Shih Tsin since its near there) and working adults for a reason. The food is reasonably priced and more importantly, it was palatable. Char and me shared a flavorful and appetizing gratin (we knew we couldn't finish the carbo anyway) and the hot pomelo tea was refreshing and satisfying. Definitely returning here again!

Dinner - Dinner at a Chinese restaurant near 中山. This meal was rather pricey, and just satisfactory. But the combination of 稀饭 and oyster cooked in black bean sauce was memorable.

On a note, near to 中山, there is a bread shop that is frequent by many locals, and it sells amazing mochi and bread. Another reason for me to return there!

Its the worst excuse I have heard about a breakup ever.

Someone ought to just castrate that annoying kid.

It is not like someone owes him a living. His ego is so gargantuan that even an elephant can't swallow it whole.

And what nonsense, doesn't he realized he lost out possibly the only individual who can tolerate his constant irrelevant tantrums?

And he made me so guilty pondering if I was the cause of what happened. This is just so.. off.

Seriously i'm on the verge of using calling him and blasting expletives over. Though that's just simply wasting my phone bill, my breath and being childish.

Trust me, you made a right choice; that person just wasn't meant for you. He ought to realize what a foolish decision he made.

Day 4 - Hot and Cold

The sun was unforgiving this morning, and we had the misconception that the last day of Chinese New Year will be bright and sunny.

Not exactly the best weather to pay a visit to the Hot Springs, but since Charmaine and Siyuan both wanted to experience how it is like, I brought them to 川湯溫泉。

It was refreshing like usual, and both of them loved the experience. And coincidentally, I met the same acquaintance I got to know the last time I came to Taiwan. It was awkward but really funny.

We headed back home, and had our very own Tangyuan to celebrate the end of Chinese New Year. It was a warm and fuzzy feeling, and made me miss the people back in Singapore.

The weather took a drastic turn and it started pouring. Feeling slightly dampened, we proceeded to 師大夜市 which is a night market where many University students drop by to grab their necessities and food.

Surprisingly, many shops were closed, and it was relatively easy to walk since there was little people around. Samuel satisfied his pau craving, which honestly is really good and worth queueing for (fortunately the queue this time is much shorter!)

Day 3 - Dear old friend.. :)

Day 3 was so much fun. And the highlight? I got to meet an old friend who is studying in Sydney!

The day started off heavy as we all woke up at 7am, thinking that we will have to collect tons of household items and equipments from the landlord for the apartment. To our dismay, only one bag was pots and pans were handed to us. So it was.. really really pathetic. =Z

We headed to Ximen next, and it was exactly the same as I have seen it a year back. Samuel and I brought the rest to Tonkaktsu, a Japanese 'fastfood' restaurant that serves delectable pork cutlet.

Thereafter, I met up Caroline, a friend whom I know from Sydney a year back. She is still as bubbly, jubilant and effervescent as always, and it brought back happy memories of my trip back then. We had a really good chat, and over a cup of nice Oolong Tea at Lattea.

Btw, Lattea serves incredibly good Macchiato. Ought to try it seriously.

Headed to Wu Fen Pu where all of them needed to stock up on clothes for the winter. Well, since I brought along 29kg worth of clothes and accessories, I was only interested in the food instead.. until Yanlan convinced to buy a jacket that looks totally weird.. yet uniquely awesome.

Oh, after five trips to Taipei, Charmaine and Yanlan finally convinced me to eat 臭豆腐. Well, it smelled really pungent, and the aftertaste was as horribly putrid, but it tasted appetizing surprisingly!

Day 3 was definitely an enjoyable day; it felt like a complete holiday. Tomorrow I'm gonna bring Charmaine and Siyuan to the hot springs, so hopefully the weather's.. cold! :)

Day 2 - Running Errands

Once again, I am one day late for my daily updates of my life in Taiwan.

Day 2 was fruitful, we finally visited National Chengchi University. The school looks slightly dilapidated, worn out and not exactly appealing, but at least the scenery, or river running by the school was calming and sorta beautiful.

Many administrative matters settled, other than modules which we will require assistance from the students on Monday. Health checkup was a blessing, it cost a mere 40 bucks compared to Singapore's whopping 150 bucks! :)

Managed to get my Taiwan mobile, and we got to eat 卤肉饭 finally!

Guess what, for the first time I finish up every bit of my rice. Yes as much as it was just a small bowl, but at least that's an achievement right?

And biggest reward for the day goes to SKYPE-ing and seeing that annoying face once again! :) It instantly brought a smile to my face, and yes, it felt blissful!

That concludes Day 2 of Taiwan, and I am getting adjusted to the life in Taiwan gradually, despite not being able to hold those hands.

Day 1 - Taiwan, my arrival.

Day 1 14/02/10

Given that I have no internet access right now, I decided to pen down my thoughts and happening on dear Microsoft word and transfer it to blogger later. J

Stepping onboard the plane was a surreal experience. Everyone had minute difference in their reactions to their departure. We were all having mixed feelings, in excitement to see what’s out there waiting for us in Taipei while knowing for certain we will miss out family and friends.

(Insert: I held back my tears.. right.)

First surprise (ok it was a shock admittedly), Jason was onboard and he was serving as Tiger Airway’s air steward. I was praying he would not say something totally inappropriate given his eccentric character.

But he was nice, offered us emergency seats, which means much more leg space and comfort. He gave me a chocolate, which is very random. He wanted to buy me a drink, but it was too awkward that I rejected his offer.

Shih Tsin University (where Yanlan and Samuel are heading to) was really nice, they fetch us from the airport, and sent us to our apartment. In other words, totally luxurious!

Our second surprise, dear Charmaine went to Carrefour, so we had to stand outside the apartment and freeze for a long time. Look at our poor faces..

Our apartment is nice, looking comfortably, except it was dusty. We spent the night cleaning the house and room, and now it feels like home.

Dinner was something special, 姜母鸭. Basically, you add a bottle of rice wine into the soup base, and voila, you will immediately smell the nice aroma from the mixture of wine, ginger, meat and vegetables. Very healthy, and a very fuzzy feeling each time you slurp down a mouthful of the warm pungent soup.

That concludes Day 1 of Taiwan, still the same since the visited the last time, but the difference; I am missing my family and friends.. and you. =(

There's just so much to contemplate.

It has been a pleasant two months leading to departure to Taiwan today.

I have completed many tasks on hand,

1. Helped out with a FYP film

2. Caught up with many old friends

3. Made many new friends

4. Burnt a hole in my pocket before I actually travel to Taiwan (ahhhh!)

and falling in love, with someone really special.

As I prepared your Valentine's gift on our very special 11th of February, my mind was whirling with many memories. In a short two months, you have shown me what I have not contemplated for a long time,

to love, to trust and to feel truly belonged to someone's heart.

It is the first time I have prepared a gift with so much effort, and the writing the card made me realized how much I want to contribute to our relationship. It strengthen that delicate notion that whatever I had been doing was all worth it.

I am not someone who believe in eternity and commitment, and while I am still convincing myself these have to be inducted into my principles, I believe you have conquered away many existing fears and beliefs.

This is the predicament; I know Taiwan will be a blast. Yet at the same time not seeing someone so dear till July (or even November) is going to be perturbing.

Admittedly, I am really terrified, with so many uncertainties on hand, but I will be positive. After all wasn't this my resolution for the year? :)

I do hope the distance apart from Taiwan to Sydney will make me treasure and love you even more. I hope that Mariah wannabe's voice will imprint in your mind, and the annoying series of "will do", "sorry" and "thanks" will warm your heart whenever you are feeling lonely.

At4.23am. feeling totally lost.

I abhor the feeling of being caught in such a situation. I never thought it would be this painful and unbearable.

I reached the point where I am in total confusion - to feel the excitement or to feel the dread?

I try to disregard the negativity, but as time draws nearer and nearer, I am getting really sensitive to how one feels and reacts.

Currently, when I see how the opposite party gets affected, I can no longer stay composed and rational, and this itself is so unacceptable. What happened to the positivity and maturity that I have prided myself all along?

Recently, I am too afraid to post on blog, because I just refuse to let myself have an opportunity to wallow in self agony and seemingly enjoying the companion of the complaints.

I will be back to post about my valentines day. Meanwhile, Im sorry but just bear with me. I promise to recover as soon as possible.

Some of us decides to burn a hole in our pockets and be extreme shopaholics.

Some of us whip out a camera and capture all the images that relates to our inner most beings.

Some of us turn into gluttons and munch all the delicacies.

For me, I turn to my adidas shoes and go for a run.

Runs are exhilarating, they grant you this sense of freedom.

It relieves you from all the stress that you are facing,

and lifts you from that downtrodden spirit to a jubilant cheery one.

You sweat off that extra bit of puzzlement and confusion, and empower yourself with positive thoughts after the run.

Moreover, you get to lose weight in the midst of it.

So, what's there not to love about running when you are desperately in need of a solution to rid those pesky annoying thoughts circulating in your mind? :)

I just acted like a total immature tyrant.

And so much for the maturity that i have prided myself.

Maturity requires you to handle the situation with full control of yourself, especially during awkward and tense situations.

Apparently, I lost it earlier. It may be due to one hell of a stressful week in Tokyo, but I am feeling totally ashamed that I could not handle those emotions more delicately.

Admittedly, I was excited, and naturally I formed unrealistic expectations of the person actions and behaviour.

When these expectations fell apart, you get disappointed and gradually become oversensitive.

Now to think of it, this is really childish and ridiculous. But no point whining, because ultimately you have to prove to yourself that you can overcome this hurdle.

And yes, it has been gazillions years since I behaved and felt like that (coughs*S*coughs), but quoting Julia Robert's Eat Pray Love,

"Sometimes to lose balance for love, is a form of balance."

Updated: I get the drift. And I think I saw the horizon. yup this is it.

Foremost, I have to get THIS off my chest.

M you one time f***ing suck big time. It was one time big mood spoiler of my trip zzzzzz.

Ok, now i have done a quick whining (sorry),

I'm gonna say the Tokyo trip was an eye-opener. Not necessary as enjoyable as I hoped it would be, but nevertheless a really worthwhile experience.

The greatest killer? Weather. It's just so chilly and at -1 you feel like layering yourself with 101 clothings. Unfortunately you realized that you have to try on new clothings too.

The pros?
1. Sushi. I don't care if I will puke from all the rice, but the sushi meal at Sushi Dai was just amazing. The eel.. as it enters ur mouth, it sparks off colours of heavenly fulfillment as it melts delicatedly into a soft moist delectable liquified rice. Hell for 11 items it cost us a whopping 64 bucks, but it was just too satisfying to bother the size of the hole it will burn of our pockets.

2. The people are friendly, full of merriment and to the verge of being overly lively. One caution, unless you enjoy walking fast like me (coughs mother was a.. bother sometimes :p) you will certainly not like the idea of a throng of ants swiftly stomping pass you.

3. Ramen. Ok I am definitely not the best person to comment about noodles, but the soup base in most ramen shops are just too good. In fact, I finished most of the soup (leaving one time big bowl of noodles) whenever we had ramen. Curry rice.. Nothing like what you will taste in Singapore please.

4. Snacks at cheap prices. 'Nuff said.

5. If you love gawking at fashion (not me sorry), you will certainly love Japan. People here are so well dressed it makes me feel like some beggar on the streets. Hell, I was rather embarrassed to walk into shops like Agnes B.

6. Cake at Hordes Cafe. I will describe it in my next post with photos. Just know that it's a must try if you are heading to Tokyo.

7. (This is totally personal) Finally, revelation of examination results with horrible wireless sure sound sucky, but it resulted in shock and tears of joy. Thank you god.

It does make the heart grows fonder, though constantly you remind yourself its only just weeks to go.

Every year there will be a movie that strikes me hard.

Last year it was "he's just not that into you". This year, it is this fabulous movie.

It was like your typical rom-com, but attached to the movie was many moral values that relates you to the characters instantly.

The chemistry between Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal was perfect, and while admittedly some of the lines were REALLY cheesy, you cant help but feel a sense of aching and blissfulness as the plot progresses.

Its a real must-watch, and while it wasn't a hit in box office (afterall nudity was portrayed wholesomely), it will certain entice you to draw many parallels to your life after watching the show. :)

Biking in the rain..

This was a brand new experience. And it was exhilarating and exciting.. big time.

I rode my grandmother bike from Paya Lebar to Pasir Ris.

While this may seem nothing mindblowing, but the crazy me rode against the heavy rain.

Apparently it was so heavy that I could barely see more than 200m in front.

But it just felt so relieving, blazing through the turbulent weather and crazily gliding pass hordes of vehicles and people.

I admit though, it was rather terrifying to ride pass not one or two, but THREE trees laying starless and sombre on the ground after being strike by lightning.

The ride allowed me to see many structures, witnessed how irresponsible some drivers are, and how pedestrians are edging from one another such that they will not be victims of the wet muddy groundwater.

Next time I'm feeling stress, I know what I can do.

Let the rain invigorate me, period.

3. Start learning driving

4. Be jubilant and self-motivated to stay positive. (TOTALLY unquantifiable can.)

5. Save 1/5 of my allowance for 2011.

6. Spend more time with friends and loved ones.

7. Achieve 6 pacs and flaunt to CHARMAINE yap. (Just for you girl.)

I think apple just scored big with our education system here. Finally some progress.

Though why the random checks? I wonder how many of the students are grumbling over that. Will they be reprimanded for blogging, using Facebook or eBay excessively? I wonder.

Singapore’s 21st century school of the future

Imagine a classroom where keyboards, laptops and touchscreen monitors have replaced traditional pen, paper and chalkboard.

At Maris Stella High School, this is no dream. Sitting on a quiet hill along Mount Vernon Road, the school is unlike any other in Singapore.

For one, it makes it compulsory for all 1,500 of its students — all the way from Sec. One to Sec. Four from next year onwards – to purchase an Apple MacBook, which will be used for school assignments and projects.

That’s not all. The school’s ground-breaking ”1:1 Learning Programme” requires all teachers to conduct multi-touch interactive lessons using Nintendo’s Wii Remote and Samsung’s flatscreen TVs.

The school embraces technology on all fronts.

Fewer worksheets are given out to students. Instead, teachers post classwork and homework assignments on the Studywiz e-learning portal, and students access them via their MacBook while in school or at home.

Assignments are done in various forms of software — Microsoft Office for Mac (for creating documents) or GarageBand (for making podcasts) — depending on the teacher’s requirement.

Teachers actively use Google Docs to create forms for taking attendance during CCA meetings. Each student and teacher has their individual Maris Stella Google Mail address, and teachers can send e-mails to a specific group of students — class, level, CCA or the entire school.

Launched in September 2009, the school’s ”21st century classroom” is equipped with infrared LED light pens, remote controls of the popular Nintendo Wii gaming console, and Samsung’s flatscreen TVs, which act as a multi-touch whiteboard. The classroom can house two classes at one time.

Students from disadvantaged families who cannot afford the MacBook will be rendered financial assistance and provisions will be made for by the school (an entry level MacBook on the Apple online store costs $1,488 while the higher-end MacBook Pro costs anywhere between S$1,788 to $3,398).

The school even has its own Apple Service Centre situated within its grounds in case students encounter any hardware or software issues with their MacBook.

To discourage the unrestricted use of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter during school time, every student has a unique username and password to the school’s wireless network. As such, the school authorities can track down which websites have been visited.

Random checks are also conducted and teachers often use Apple Remote Desktop to monitor student internet activity.

Naked man arrested at McDonald’s outlet

A man was refused service by the McDonald’s crew in Queensway after he walked in stark naked and tried to order breakfast in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at the Rideout Tea Garden McDonald’s outlet along Queensway around 4am.

A witness, media coordinator Aslan Asat, 26, who was sitting in the alfresco area of the restaurant with three of his friends, told The New Paper they were shocked to see the man grinning as he casually walked into the restaurant totally nude.

“The naked guy was holding on to a laptop case, but he did not attempt to cover his private parts with it,” he added. The naked man also did not appear to be intoxicated.

It is understood that the Chinese man, who looked to be in his mid-twenties to early thirties, tried to order a cup of coffee over the counter but was refused service by the McDonald’s crew.

Mr Aslan said, “The McDonald’s staff asked him to leave, but he loitered around in the restaurant for at least 10 minutes before walking out.”

There were six other customers in the fast-food restaurant at the time, and they had the same reaction towards the naked man.

“Everyone was gawking at him initially and started to giggle after a while,” he said.

However, the naked man continued to loiter outside the restaurant even after being asked to leave.

“He took out a phone from the laptop case and started to make a call. I overheard him complaining about the refusal of service by McDonald’s staff in English,” said Mr Aslan.

“He left only after lighting up a cigarette.”

A McDonald’s spokesman confirmed the incident and said the restaurant had to turn the customer away due to the objectionable nature of his behaviour.

“The fast-food restaurant has referred the case to the police and investigations are under way.”

Police said they received a call at 4.35am on Sunday regarding a man appearing naked at a McDonald’s outlet. They arrested the man and referred him to the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) for psychiatric assessment.

Lawyer, Foo Cheow Ming, told the paper that appearing naked in public and exposing one’s private parts is regarded as an “obscene” act by Singapore courts.

If found guilty, the man faces a maximum sentence up to three months in jail and a fine of $2,000.

I am actually excited after it has been a long time since I ran a marathon. Didnt train much this time and I can foresee myself spending my dear birthday at home recuperating while mugging for examinations.

When I was reflecting what I have learnt through this production,

and it made me glad that I chose to take up COM225.

This production allowed me to learnt the role of a producer. A producer should not be labelled a saikang warrior because he is the individual that does most the administrative work and pre-production.

The mise-en-scene of a location.
The acting potential of the cast.
The logistical requirements during filming.
The influx of information and compiling them in an organized fashion. coughs, logging for god's sake is the MOST important information especially when sound is concerned.
The reliance other crew members have on you during all phases of production.
Learning to manage the expectations and the lack of creative control over a film.

I had to learn exponentially when i was a director the previous production, and our assignment 3 allowed me to learn the role and criticality of a producer, albeit many flaws along the way.

To be honest, I knew our final product will not be up to our standards given the shortage of time. There might be regrets about our individual dedication to this assignment, but I know I have tried to do my best and my concerns should be dispelled.

This is one topic that I really feel for. Hence, I am really looking forward to let our film reach out to more people. Which means touching up the required portion (yes sound edit whatever shit) so that it can ultimately be a film we can be proud of.

Finally, thanks to all the cast who were involved. Despite your hectic schedules, I do feel that all of you tried your best to give us what we wanted (yes, the end result may not show it.) Really big appreciation to that.

In what is a first for Japan and perhaps the world, a long-haired Chihuahua named "Momo" -- "Peach" -- passed exams to become a police dog in the western Japanese prefecture of Nara.

The brown-and-white, perky Momo was one of 32 successful candidates out of 70 dogs, passing a search and rescue test by finding a person in five minutes after merely sniffing their cap.

"Any breed of dog can be entered to become a police dog in the search and rescue division," said a Nara police spokesman.

But he admitted that news a Chihuahua had been entered may still come as a surprise to many.

"It's quite unusual," he said.

Television footage showed the 7-year-old Momo bounding across grass or sitting proudly, long hair blowing in the breeze.

Momo will be used for rescue operations in case of disasters such as earthquakes, in the hope that she may be able to squeeze her tiny frame into places too narrow for more usual rescue dogs, which tend to be German Shepherds.

The public response to the news of Momo's selection took police by surprise, the spokesman said, adding: "The phone's been ringing all afternoon."
