Adapting to Changes Sometimes, things are not what it seems on the surface. Deception seems to be readily used on people who are affable or complaisant. Recently, I got to know of someone who is really close to me that was deluded by his then-partner. He was totally mesmerized by the innocence and rectitudinous of this individual. Either his partner was exceptionally convincing or we were all simpletons, but she managed to trick us into believing work was the reason why she was occupied most of the time. And when they broke up, she gave the same reason that she needs to be off from all commitments before she leaves for her 6 months long overseas attachment. Well, she certainly is an incredible liar. Apparently all this while she has been two timing him. And it was not because she was going to break up with her partner but couldnt find the right opportunity to do so. She actually agreed to a relationship with two individuals at the same time. Eventually when the matter came to light, she gave the SAME lousy excuse to both men, "I was in love with you then, the other party was just an affair.." How incredulous. I'm sure she will have her karma for her promiscuousness. |
