Renuion of the Gang The reunion with my gang was extraordinary, amazing and undeniably the best day for the month. The sight of Eileen at Bedok’s Watson sparked off my joyful spirit for the day. As usual, I began to criticise her about her fats, while we stopped by at Bengawan Solo for Mingwei’s birthday cake. I was discussing with Leen whether Puayling was told about the gathering when I saw this tall, fair and bubbly figure silhouetted against the shadow of the tree. I was overjoyed and surprised that Puayling was finally joining us after disappearing for all the gatherings. Blame her stern and unreasonable mother (at least that’s what I think) for caging her at home throughout this entire holiday period. As we entered the gates of Wilfred’s mansion, we met most of the gang, which consisted of Van, Junhao, Guanhui, Chunyan and Fred. I was delighted that I finally saw them, and halting that fear of distancing friendships. Exploring the house, and cracking jokes that revolves about Van’s narcissism and comparing Eileen to pigs allowed the time to pass by quickly until 5 plus, when Joseph, Weijie & Mingwei arrived. With the entire gang present (Tuty and Thaddeaus were unable to come due to work and food poisoning respectively), we started our barbeque. We cooked Pasta, made Salad, barbequed chickens as well as burning hotdogs, cuttlefish balls and fishsticks. =P It was awesomely fun, like stuffing marshmallows into Eileen’s mouth, Weijie being criticised for not helping out and Fred and Jo playing and consuming their disgusting marshmallows together. Nicole arrived and brought along Twister. Around 8 plus, we began to make full use of the cameras, taking endless group photos. I felt so blissful surrounded by my gang, and I realised, heaving a huge sigh of relief as well that none of us drifted apart. Cleaning up was next, and we munched on sliced watermelon immediately after. Playing twister was the huge highlight of the night, as we were introduced to this pathetically painful game, though ironically, it was extremely fun. Most of our legs & hands were inevitably aching after that. The night concluded as we went over to the park to set of rockets. None of them rocketed though. I’m sure the rocket gang was kinda disappointed.. We strolled to the busstop, and sang an early birthday song for Mingwei, before smashing the Chocolate Glateau Cake on his face. He didn’t seem too shocked though. Guess he had already suspected it. It had really been one of the fantastic and fulfilling day throughout the year. Looking forward to the next outing, and meanwhile, take care guys and girls! And, I Love My Gang. Kinda mushy isn’t it? =) |
