Chinese New Year Eve The Eve of CNY marks the start of my 3 days break! Honestly, I have this love-hate relationship for this festive season. Love for the red packets, and hate for the temptations of snacks. Though preparation of food was tough, and cleaning up the dining area was horrendous exhausting, I still preferred having renuion dinner at home. At least you feel the accomplishment of creating (or at least, helping out) a meal where everyone is present and joyful at the same time. Sister, who seldom came back home to sleep, decided on gambling. My luck that day was quite alright, since I lost just a little. On the other hand, my brother lost 6 dollars. My mum, sister and I could not stop guffawing when he fled. Visitations were inevitable during Chinese New Year. As usual, I met all my relatives yesterday (which meant hongpaos for me :P). A communication barrier was visibly present between all of my cousins and us (my brother, sister and me), and that feeling made me uncomfortable and feel hypocritical. Well, after settling there for 2 hours, three of us made our escape. Ben suggested catching a movie after that. We went over to Cineleisure, and unexpectedly, the crowd there was overwhelming. I was really surprised to see Chinese outnumbering the Malay. Anyway, we watched Flight Of The Phoenix. The show was quite alright, with a steady plot and great acting from the cast. However, what makes it an average movie was that it seemed unrealistic and not entirely interesting. I still enjoyed it though. Unsure what's my plans for the day, but I will prefer snoozing at home. Well, not that I can flee from my mum's plans! |
